Zoe Caraffi

Zoe Caraffi, a proud member of the College Academy at Broward College family whose journey is a perfect blend of passion and purpose.

After graduating from our institution, Zoe moved to St. Petersburg, FL, where she earned her Bachelor’s in Environmental Science from the University of South Florida. Her time at USF was marked by invaluable internships and a discovery of her passion for teaching, which ultimately led her to pursue a Master’s in Environmental Education from Slippery Rock University.

Today, Zoe is the Associate Director of Education at the Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center, located at the heart of the St. Petersburg Pier. In her role, Zoe oversees a range of educational programs, including daily tank talks, field trips, traveling education, outreach, after-school programs, and summer camps. Her mission is to make marine science accessible to all, breaking down barriers and inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards. 

In addition to her full-time role, Zoe serves as the West Central Regional Director for the Florida Marine Science Educators Association (FMSEA), where she continues to impact her community through her dedication to marine science education.

Outside of her professional achievements, Zoe has also celebrated personal milestones. She married in April 2022 and enjoys life in St. Petersburg with her husband, their adorable Australian Shepherd, Opal, and their affectionate part-Maine Coon cat, Thomas. Together, they share a love for traveling and scuba diving, having explored the underwater wonders of Costa Rica, Mexico, Key West, and soon, the Bahamas.

Zoe’s journey from College Academy to becoming a leader in environmental education is a true testament to the impact of education, dedication, and passion. We are so proud of all she has accomplished and look forward to watching her continue to inspire and lead.
